Acupuncture
Community acupuncture
By treating several people at the same time we make acupuncture affordable and accessible to
to a greater community. Acupuncture in China is a peoples medicine, an effective, affordable
and environmental friendly method that can really contribute to the health care system.
In Sweden acupuncture is mostly used for treating pain, but the World Health Organisation WHO lists a number of different
areas for acupuncture, such as
-headache, migraine, nausea, dizziness
-pain (chronic and acute)
-indigestion, constipation
-asthma, allergies
-menopausal syndrome, PMS, dysmennorrea
-insomnia, anxienty, depression
-tiredness, stress, recurrent infections and colds
What is community acupuncture?
The community acupuncture concept has a similar set up all over the world: several people get
treated at the same time, in a relaxed atmosphere that enhances the treatment effect.
Either you sit in a comfortable recliner, or on a massage table. Most times you do not
need to take off your clothes, we needle points mainly on the arms, legs and head.
While the needles are working, you can lean back and have a relaxing moment for yourself.
The treatment lasts for 30-60 min. The first session we will make a more thourough questioning
about your health and symtoms, to make a diagnosis neccessary for selecting the right points
for you.
Acupuncture is practised by using very thin sterile needles
that are inserted some millimeters to a couple of centimeters under the skin.
When the needle penetrates the skin you can feel a slight stinge, like a mosquito bite. Soon after that many people
experience a sensation of warmth when the needle hits the acupunture point. This is usually a pleasant
and relaxing experience and is a sign that the needle is affecting your Qi and the nervous system.
There are hundreds of acupuncture points all over the body, but the acupuncturist will choose
between 1 to 20 points for each treatment. The points are selected individually
for each patient, after a diagnosis is made by questioning and looking at the tongue and feeling
the pulse. The needles will then do their work for anything between 10 to 60 minutes.
Many people experience the acupunture as very relaxing, and many fall asleep during the treatment.

If you are very scared of needles, we can use other methods like tui na, shiatsu, or herbal treatment.
The treatment costs
First session 400 kr, ca 60 min incl questioning + treatment
5-card, 5 treatments 800 kr
Single treatments 350 kr (if you do not want to buy the 5-card)
Acupuncture in combination with massage, tuina or shiatsu costs depending on the
amount of massage needed or wanted. For example 20 min massage + acupuncture = 200 kr + 1 clip on your 5-card
Research has shown that acupuncture works through the hormonal-, nervous- and cirkulatory systems.
The needles stimulate the release of chemical neuro transmittors and the impulses reaches the brain
via the electro chemical communication of the nervous system. Several different levels of the central nervous system
is probably causing the healing effects of acupuncture. Depending on how the needle is stimulated and
which points are unsed, either the sympathetic (yang) or the parasympathetic (yin) nervous system will be affected.
